Your Itinerary
Day 1
Lidernenhütte
Your journey begins at Brunnen station at 10:00, followed by a scenic 10:30 PostBus ride to Riemenstalden. The cable car at ~10:45 whisks you up towards Lidernen station (1,700m), setting the stage for a rewarding 3-hour ascent to the Lidernenhütte. Traverse beautiful alpine pastures and a unique karst plateau, arriving at the hut around 14:30. Enjoy tea and Nussgipfel on the terrace, followed by free time to explore the rocky surroundings. The evening culminates with a 4-course hut dinner at 18:30 prepared by the warden, under a canopy of stars.
Day 2
Descent + Lauerzersee
Wake up to a breakfast buffet at the hut from 07:00 to 08:00, complete with a liter of hiker's tea to fuel your day. We embark on a shorter ridge walk before descending through the picturesque Riemenstalden valley. By 14:30 you take the cable car down and catch the PostBus back to Brunnen. For a perfect end to the weekend, there's an optional swim at Lauerzersee on the way home, perhaps paired with a lakeside ice cream, before catching your train home in the evening.
