Itinerary

  1. 1Day 1Welcome to Morocco!
    • Check-in: our adventure kicks off in Marrakech

Flights to and from the destination are not included in the package, so you can decide which airport to depart from, at what time, and with the airline you prefer... This is to give you maximum freedom of choice.

Our adventure starts in Marrakech, a great Moroccan metropolis that's modern and constantly evolving, while preserving the country's cultures and traditions.

      • Evening in the centre: we spend the evening in the city center, warming up our engines.

Tomorrow our journey begins: get ready for an adventure that mixes history, culture and fun like never before!

      • A bustling market square filled with people and green-topped stalls, overlooked by a tall minaret under a pinkish dusk sky.
      • Colorful sacks of spices and herbs are displayed for sale in an outdoor market stall on a narrow street.
  2. 2Day 2The Imperial Cities: Rabat and Meknes
    • Through the Atlas Mountains to Rabat

After a breakfast brimming with local flavours, we leave the enchanting atmosphere of Marrakech behind. Off we go!

      • Across the Atlas: we journey through the majestic Atlas Mountains to reach Rabat, the capital and our first destination.

      • First taste of Rabat: bustling markets, the scent of spices and vibrant colours introduce us to the city's rich culture.

    • From Rabat to Meknes: kasbah, tower and grand gates

Yes, the capital of Morocco is Rabat, not Marrakech as many might assume! Along the Atlantic coast, it greets us with colonial streets, cafés and shopping centres, but history and culture are alive in every corner.

      • Into the medina: we lose ourselves among Moorish and Andalusian architecture that speaks of centuries-old traditions.

      • Rabat's icons: we won't miss the city's iconic sights, the Kasbah des Oudayas, Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.

      • On to Meknes: next stop Meknes, an imperial city and UNESCO World Heritage site, with grand gates, historic squares and charming hidden corners.

      • Night in Meknes: we spend the night here, so we can soak in the magic of its alleys at sunset and sunrise.

      • Rows of stone columns fill a wide, paved plaza, leading toward a tall, historic tower under a blue sky.
  3. 3Day 3Volubilis and Chefchaouen, the blue pearl
    • From ancient Roman ruins to the blue city

After breakfast we set off for Volubilis, where evocative Roman ruins take us back in time.

      • To the blue pearl: through breathtaking landscapes we reach Chefchaouen, the "blue pearl of Morocco", founded in the 15th century by Jewish and Muslim refugees.

      • Through the blue alleys: a painter's dream of vibrant blue buildings and narrow alleys, where we wander picturesque streets and hidden corners in a laid-back atmosphere.

All around us rise the Rif Mountains: the perfect place to end the day.

      • A courtyard with textured blue walls, steps, and floor, decorated with potted plants, stone stools, and a small table with a tea set.
      • A WeRoad group trip posing for a photo on the steps of a narrow alleyway with distinctive blue walls.
  4. 4Day 4Fes el-Bali: into the heart of the old city

After a magical night in the blue city we set off for Fes, Morocco's cultural capital, whose ancient walls conceal a labyrinth of alleys.

      • Medina with a local guide: with our local expert we explore the medina through artisan workshops, vibrant bazaars and tailors' shops, crossing Bab Boujloud.

      • Tannery and monuments: we visit the famous Chouara Tannery (yes, it has a distinctive smell, but the view of the multicoloured rooftops is spectacular), then the Kairouine Mosque and the magnificent Bou Inania Madrasa.

      • Ceramics cooperative: with the master ceramicists we learn how Fes's iconic blue and white ceramics are made, with traditional wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques.

      • Museum and free time: we step back in time at the Foundouk Nejjarine, a museum dedicated to woodwork, then enjoy some free time to explore Fes at our own pace.

      • Men working at a traditional outdoor tannery surrounded by large, circular stone vats filled with colorful dyes.
  5. 5Day 5The magic of the Merzouga desert!
    • The beauty of nature: Ifrane, Midelt and the Ziz Valley

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind sensory adventure: from Fes we hit the road to Merzouga, in the heart of the desert. It's going to be a long journey, with a couple of stops:

      • Mint tea at the camp: we're greeted with a warm, fragrant mint tea, as the aroma of spices mixes with burning wood: the "magic of the desert".
