Day 1
Welcome to Namibia. Arrive at Windhoek International Airport and transfer to Chameleon Backpackers. This is a recovery day after your flight. Relax, settle in, meet your fellow travelers, and enjoy your first taste of Namibia. In the late afternoon we have a Trip Briefing covering the safari, desert, and surf camp adventures. Optional short walk in Windhoek city to start exploring.
Day 2
We leave early for Etosha National Park, one of Africa's most famous wildlife destinations. From the very first game drive, you'll be amazed by the incredible diversity of animals – elephants roaming the plains, graceful giraffes, zebras in herds, and if you're lucky, lions in action. The scenery is vast and breathtaking, with endless salt pans and savannah stretching to the horizon. In the afternoon we arrive at Halali Camp, where you set up your twin-share tents and soak in the unique desert atmosphere. As night falls, we head to the floodlit waterhole, a truly magical experience where elephants, rhinos, and nocturnal predators come to drink, giving you an up-close glimpse of Africa's wild wonders. All meals for the day are included.
Day 3
Wake up at dawn for a sunrise game drive, one of the most magical moments in Etosha. The early morning light casts a golden glow across the vast plains as wildlife awakens. Watch as predators move stealthily and plains game graze peacefully, all against the backdrop of endless savannah and shimmering salt pans. We spend the day exploring multiple waterholes, each offering incredible opportunities to see elephants, antelope, zebras, and maybe even a lion or cheetah on the hunt. In the late afternoon, we arrive at Okaukuejo Camp, famous for its floodlit waterhole, where you can marvel at the animals gathering under the stars, an unforgettable African wildlife experience. Settle into your twin-share tents and drift off to the night sounds of the bush, feeling the heartbeat of Africa all around you. All meals for the day are included.
Day 4
Drive to Swakopmund and check in at SALTY JACKAL Surf Camp, our home for the next eight days of surf, adventure, and desert-ocean energy. In the afternoon, enjoy a Shipwreck Drive along the Skeleton Coast, where dramatic desert dunes meet the wild Atlantic Ocean and remnants of shipwrecks tell stories of maritime history. Evening Welcome Dinner with your surf instructors, a perfect chance to meet the team and start the adventure vibe.
Day 5
Morning surf session with our ISA-certified instructors, where you can ride the waves and practice techniques in a fun, supportive environment. The rest of the day includes an afternoon city tour of Swakopmund to explore its colonial architecture, lively streets, and local shops, followed by a Namibian beer tasting to enjoy local flavors. Optional sunset surf session to finish the day on the waves. The camp atmosphere is friendly, vibrant, and perfect for meeting fellow travelers.
Day 6
Start the day with a surf session, then prepare for an afternoon adventure to Sandwich Harbour, one of Namibia's most breathtaking landscapes. Here, enormous desert dunes drop dramatically into the Atlantic Ocean, creating surreal scenery unique in the world. Perfect for photography, desert walks, and simply taking in the raw natural beauty of Namibia. Return to the camp for Surf Movie Night, sharing laughs, highlights, and memories from the day with your tribe.
Day 7
Morning surf session at SALTY JACKAL. Afternoon excursion to the Moon Landscape, a desert area shaped by centuries of erosion, with jagged rock formations and otherworldly scenery that truly feels like another planet. Enjoy a picnic surrounded by the vast landscape, then as night falls, stargaze under pristine Namibian skies, one of the clearest places on Earth for seeing the Milky Way. Return to camp for optional video surf analysis and photo review.
Day 8
Morning surf session with coaching and practice. Afternoon free to relax, explore the dunes, or enjoy a second surf session. Evening Quiz Night at Soundgarden, with fun team challenges, laughter, and guaranteed bonding. The energy at camp is high and everyone shares stories from the week.
Day 9
Morning surf session at SALTY JACKAL. Afternoon optional excursion to Cape Cross Seal Colony, home to thousands of Cape fur seals. Watch them in their natural habitat, hear their unique calls, and enjoy one of Namibia's most famous wildlife experiences. For those who prefer, spend the afternoon exploring nearby desert landscapes or relaxing at camp. Evening optional video surf analysis to refine your technique.
Day 10
Morning surf session. Afternoon free to enjoy the camp or take an extra surf. Evening Halloween Party at SALTY JACKAL with costumes, music, games like beer pong, and pure fun. Celebrate the day in style and enjoy the energy at its peak.
Day 11
Morning surf session at SALTY JACKAL. Evening Namibian Bring & Braai, a traditional outdoor barbecue where we cook together over open fire, share stories, enjoy local flavors, and watch the sunset over the dunes. A perfect evening of community, laughter, and bonding with the tribe.
Day 12
Today we journey into the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world. On the way, we stop in the tiny town of Solitaire, famous for its legendary apple pie and quirky photo opportunities among old farm vehicles. The highlight of the day is the sunset sundowner in the dunes at Sesriem Campsite. Watch the sky turn golden over the towering red dunes as you sip a drink and feel the desert's tranquility. Dinner is served under the stars, making it a magical start to your desert adventure.
Day 13
Wake up before dawn to witness sunrise at Dune 45, one of the highest and most photographed dunes in Namibia. The early light paints the sand in glowing oranges and reds. We then explore Sossusvlei, with its iconic white clay pans, and Deadvlei, where ancient skeletal camelthorn trees stand against a backdrop of enormous dunes. For the adventurous, we climb the towering Big Daddy dune for breathtaking panoramic views over the desert. In the afternoon, take a guided walk through Sesriem Canyon, carved by the Tsauchab River over millions of years. The cool canyon walls provide a striking contrast to the vast desert and are full of geological history. Overnight in twin-share tents, fully immersed in the desert under a sky full of stars.
Day 14
After breakfast, we drive back across the Namib Desert via the Kuiseb and Gaub passes, taking in spectacular mountain and canyon scenery along the way. Arrive at Chameleon Backpackers in Windhoek late afternoon. The evening is free to explore the city, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy a night out reflecting on the adventures of the past two weeks.
Day 15
Time to say goodbye! Transfer to Windhoek International Airport for your departure. Take home memories, photos, and stories of your incredible Namibian adventure. You arrived as strangers and leave as a Travel Tribe.
