How It Works

Browse here, book with WeRoad, travel with the Tribe

Pick a trip

Browse the catalogue here. Everything you see has a departure still open, in one of five languages, with the real price next to every date.

There is nothing to sign up for at this stage. No account, no email wall, no “create a profile to see prices”.

Book on WeRoad

The booking button takes you to WeRoad, who operate the trip. They handle the payment, the confirmation and the paperwork. What you pay and when is set out at their checkout.

You do not need a TravelTribe account to book. The exact terms, including what you pay and when, are on the WeRoad page for that departure.

Wait for the group to fill

Group trips run when enough people have booked. WeRoad confirms the departure once it hits its minimum, usually well before the date, and tells you directly.

If a departure does not fill, you are not stuck with it. Their terms cover moving to another date or another trip.

Book your own flights

Flights are deliberately not in the price. You pick the airport, the airline and the timing, which usually costs less and lets you add a few days either side if you want them.

Each trip page tells you where the group meets and when.

Meet the group before you go

A couple of weeks out, your Group Leader opens a WhatsApp group with everyone on the departure. Dietary stuff, who is landing when, what to pack, it all gets sorted there.

By the time you land you already know half their names.

Come back to the Tribe

This is the part that did not change, and the part the whole thing is built on. The events in Switzerland are ours, and they are where the Tribe lives between trips.

Volley, aperitivi, ski days, hikes. Most people who travel with us turn up to one within a month of getting home, which is rather the point.

Accommodation

You only ever share with people on your own trip, and rooms are same-gender by default. WeRoad confirm your room once the group is complete. If you would rather not share at all, most trips sell a single-room option.

Transportation

Getting there is on you, on purpose: it is almost always cheaper and it lets you extend the trip if you want. Once the WhatsApp group opens, people compare flights, share airport transfers and often end up travelling out together anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I'm coming alone?

▼

Most people do. That is the entire premise: everyone on the trip booked it by themselves for the same reason you did, so there is no existing group to break into.

Do I need a TravelTribe account?

▼

No. You can browse everything and book without logging in anywhere on our side. Accounts still exist for anyone who has booked directly with us in the past.

Why does the booking button take me to another site?

▼

Because that is where booking and customer care live now. Handing you over clearly beats taking money on a page that cannot give you the confirmation.

Who do I contact if something goes wrong?

▼

Anything about a booking, a payment or a departure goes to WeRoad, because they hold it. Anything about the Tribe, the events, or just wanting a human opinion on which trip to pick, comes to us at [email protected].

What's the cancellation policy?

▼

It is WeRoad's, it varies by departure, and it is printed on every trip page. Some trips also sell a flexible cancellation add-on, priced in the panel next to the price. Read the terms on the departure you are looking at rather than trusting a summary here.

How big are the groups?

▼

Small, usually low double digits plus the Group Leader. The exact size for a departure is on its trip page, because it is WeRoad's number and it varies by trip.

What's the age range?

▼

Most departures are for travellers between 25 and 35, and some are 35 to 49. It is written on every trip page, so you know before you book rather than after.

What's included in the price?

▼

Accommodation and the Group Leader always. Often some activities, entrances and breakfasts. It is listed in full on each trip page, together with what is not included, which is the list worth reading.

How do room assignments work?

▼

Rooms are shared with travellers of the same gender, and WeRoad confirm yours once the group is complete. On many trips you can pay for a single room instead, and the supplement is shown next to the price.

Why are flights not included?

▼

So you can choose. Your airport, your airline, your miles, and the option to arrive early or stay on afterwards. Bundling them would cost most people more and suit almost nobody exactly.

Why are prices shown in two currencies?

▼

WeRoad set their prices in euros. We convert to your currency so the number means something at a glance, and every trip page prints their euro figure underneath so nothing is hidden. WeRoad convert again at their own checkout based on where you are, so the final amount may differ by a franc or two.

Do I need travel insurance?

▼

Insurance is not in the base price. WeRoad sell a medical and baggage add-on on most trips, and for anything active or far away you want your own policy on top. What that departure offers is listed on its trip page.

Can I join with friends?

▼

Yes, and plenty do. Book the same departure and tell your Group Leader in the WhatsApp group before WeRoad finalise the rooms.

Are the events still happening?

▼

Yes. The events in Switzerland are ours, they did not move anywhere, and they are still the easiest way into the Tribe without booking a trip first. Some are free, some are ticketed, and the price is on each one.
