Onsen & Sushi
Japan🇯🇵
Day 1
You touch down in Tokyo and settle into our accommodation before the city pulls you in. In the afternoon we head to Tokyo Skytree for the Deck and Tembo Galleria, both included in your package, as the sun starts to set over the skyline.
As evening falls we wander past Sensō-ji in Asakusa and the lantern lit lanes of Omoide Yokocho, then share a welcome sushi dinner together. It is the perfect first taste of Japan with your new tribe.
Flights to Tokyo and airport transfers are not included so you can choose when to arrive.
Day 2
We start the morning in the calm of Shinjuku Gyoen, then walk over to Meiji Jingu, one of Tokyo's most peaceful shrines tucked beside the forest.
The afternoon belongs to Shibuya: the famous crossing, rooftop views over the city, and the buzz of Harajuku's streets. There is time to explore at your own pace before we freshen up.
Tonight we head out for dinner and end the day with karaoke. Classic Tokyo energy.
Day 3
After checking out we forward our luggage to Kyoto and stop at Odawara Castle on the way into the mountains. It is a glimpse of samurai history before Hakone's greener side takes over.
In the afternoon we reach our ryokan and explore Sengokuhara's open landscapes and quiet temple corners. The air already feels different up here.
Your included dinner at the ryokan is followed by a soak in the onsen. Tomorrow's Hakone Loop is covered by your Day Pass.
Day 4
We rise early for the famous Hakone Loop. The morning takes us through Ōwakudani's volcanic valley and across Lake Ashi by boat, with Mount Fuji often watching from a distance when the weather cooperates.
In the afternoon we visit the red torii of Hakone Shrine and wander the Hakone Open-Air Museum before heading to Odawara.
We catch the Shinkansen to Kyoto and arrive in the old capital as the evening settles in.
Day 5
The morning is all about Arashiyama: wild monkeys at Iwatayama, a gentle boat ride on the river, and the kind of scenery that makes Kyoto feel timeless.
After lunch near Tenryu-ji we walk through the bamboo grove and continue to Kinkaku-ji, the golden temple glowing against the trees.
Back in the city we treat ourselves to a wagyu dinner. You have earned it.
Day 6
We begin among the orange gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha, climbing as far as the group feels like while the city wakes up below us.
The afternoon is a slow wander through Nishiki Market, our included tea ceremony, and the hillside lanes around Kiyomizu-dera. We finish in Gion, where geishas still move quietly through the streets.
There is free time for shopping before dinner in Kyoto and a karaoke night to close the day.
Day 7
A short train ride brings us to Osaka for the morning at Osaka Castle, then the neon and street food energy of Dotonbori.
The afternoon is yours to graze, explore, and get lost in the city's food culture. Takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and all the classics are within reach.
We either stay for dinner in Osaka or ride back to Kyoto together, depending on how the group feels.
Day 8
Nara welcomes us first: friendly deer in the park and the Great Buddha inside Todai-ji, one of Japan's most awe inspiring temples.
In the afternoon we stroll the old merchant streets of Naramachi and visit Kasuga Taisha, where stone lanterns line the forest paths.
We continue to Kobe for a proper Kobe beef dinner by the waterfront before heading back to Kyoto for the night.
Day 9
Today is completely yours in Kyoto before we turn north toward the Japanese Alps. Revisit a favorite spot, hunt for souvenirs, or take an optional trip somewhere new. Your Tribe Leader is around if you want ideas.
We meet again in the evening for a last dinner together in the old capital before Shirakawa-go tomorrow.
Day 10
We leave Kyoto behind and travel to Kanazawa, then continue into the mountains to Shirakawa-go. Thatched gassho-zukuri farmhouses, preserved village streets, and views that feel frozen in time.
The afternoon is for exploring traditional houses, scenic viewpoints, and local snacks like gohei-mochi from a village stall. Some groups also stop for a soak at the village onsen.
We return to Kanazawa after sunset for dinner in town.
Day 11
The morning starts in Kenroku-en, one of Japan's finest gardens, and the castle grounds beside it. Omicho Market is the place for a fresh seafood lunch from the Sea of Japan.
In the afternoon we walk the samurai district of Nagamachi and the wooden teahouses of Higashi Chaya, with time for gold leaf ice cream or a little shopping.
We board the Shinkansen to Tokyo in the evening and settle in for our final nights in the capital.
Day 12
We cross to the east side of the city today. The morning takes us to Sensō-ji and the Nakamise shopping street in Asakusa, then Tsukiji Outer Market for lunch and all the seafood you can handle.
Akihabara is the afternoon playground: arcades, electronics, anime culture, and plenty of room to wander. An optional stop in Ueno works if the group wants something calmer.
After freshening up we head out for dinner in Ginza. Optional nightlife if anyone still has energy.
Day 13
The group chooses today together.
Option 1: Nikko. A day trip north into the mountains for fall color, the vermilion Shinkyo Bridge, the ornate carvings of Toshogu Shrine, and the mist around Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls. Lunch in town with local yuba is part of the experience.
Option 2: Free time in Tokyo. Revisit a favorite neighborhood, pick up last minute gifts, or simply slow down before the trip ends.
Day 14
Our last morning in Tokyo is unhurried. Pack at your own pace, grab a final coffee, or squeeze in one more neighborhood before you head to the airport.
Sayonara for now. Japan has a way of calling you back.
