Zurich, since 2024

TravelTribe has joined WeRoad.

We started with a WhatsApp group, a spreadsheet, and a stubborn belief that people would rather meet each other in real life than scroll past each other online. Two years and forty-four trips later, that belief has a continent to work with.

Same Tribe. Same reason for going. A much bigger map.

What doesn't change

Starting here, because this is the part people actually write to us about.

  • The Tribe

Same community, same group chats, same people who turn up to things. That was never the product. It is the whole reason any of this worked.

  • The events

Volley, aperitivi, the ski days, the Sunday hikes. All still ours, all still in Switzerland, and most of them still cost nothing or close to it.

  • The people who lead the trips

The same faces you have travelled with. Applications are still open, they just go through WeRoad now.

  • The company

TravelTribe GmbH, registered in Zurich. Same team, same inbox, same person replying to you on WhatsApp.

  • Your bookings

Anything you booked with us before the move is unaffected. Same trip, same price, same Group Leader. Nothing to re-do.

What does change

Said plainly, including the practical bits.

  • The catalogue just got enormous

We used to build every trip by hand, and forty-four in two years was a good run. The whole catalogue is on this site now, in five languages, with departures most weeks of the year.

  • You book on WeRoad

Pick a trip here, hit the button, and you finish on weroad.com. That is where booking and customer care live now, which also means you no longer need an account with us to travel.

  • One price, shown in your currency

Prices come from WeRoad and we show them in yours so they mean something at a glance, with the EUR figure underneath on every trip page. The final amount is confirmed at checkout.

  • More Group Leaders, more departures

Same role, same job: someone who knows the route, travels with the group, and makes sure nobody eats dinner alone on the first night. There are simply a lot more of them now, and applications are open.

Why this is the good version

The Tribe was never a catalogue. It was a group chat that turned into a hundred group chats: people who booked a trip on their own and came home with a thread they are still using two years later.

That is the part worth growing, and it is the part WeRoad wanted. WeRoad bring departures most weeks of the year, in five languages. We bring a community in Switzerland that actually turns up. Together the Tribe stops being a few hundred people who travel a few times a year and becomes something you can join in any language, in any month, with someone always going where you want to go.

This is the part where a movement about meeting people in real life finally gets the room to do it properly.

The awkward questions

  • I have already booked a trip with TravelTribe. What happens?

Nothing changes. It runs exactly as booked, same Group Leader, same price. If anything about your booking ever does change, we will write to you directly rather than leave it to a banner on a website.

  • Is TravelTribe still a Swiss company?

Yes. TravelTribe GmbH is still registered in Zurich and still the company you have a contract with for anything booked before the move.

  • Why does the booking button send me to another site?

Because that is where booking and customer care live now. WeRoad operate the trip, take the booking and take the payment, so handing you over clearly beats collecting money on a page that cannot give you the confirmation.

  • Do I still need a TravelTribe account?

Not for trips. You can browse and book without logging in anywhere on our side. Accounts still exist for anyone with an older booking.

  • Are the events and the community still happening?

Yes, and more are being added. The events are ours, they are in Switzerland, and they are the reason the Tribe exists in the first place.

  • Can I still lead trips?

Yes. Applications go to WeRoad now, which means more trips to lead and a proper training programme behind it. The link is on the Group Leaders page.

  • Why are prices in euros?

WeRoad set them in euros. We convert to your currency so the number is readable, and every trip page prints the euro figure underneath so nothing is hidden. WeRoad convert again at their own checkout based on where you are.

Who to ask

Two companies, two queues. Sending it to the right one is the difference between an answer today and an answer next week.

The Tribe, the events, which trip to pick, anything you booked with us before the move, or if you just want a human opinion before you commit to ten days with strangers.

Usually same day. Always a person.

Or skip all of this and go look at the trips.
