Discover the Stoos Adventure

Discover the Stoos Adventure
A bold weekend escape to Stoos, the car-free village above the world's steepest funicular. Join up to 15 fellow explorers and a TravelTribe coordinator for two days of contrast: peak views above, cave depths below.

Saturday is demanding: a 6-hour hike up Klingenstock on foot (the chairlift opens later in the season), then the iconic ridge traverse to Fronalpstock with panorama views of ten Swiss lakes on a clear day. Hotel check-in and a long group dinner in the village.

Sunday is underground: a 3-hour Beginner Tour of Hölloch, Europe's longest explored cave system (200+ km mapped). Helmet, headlamp, rubber boots and caving gloves all provided. No experience needed.

Explore our day-by-day itinerary, check where you'll stay, and see package options.

Car-free Stoos at dusk, headlamps off, long table at a village restaurant, half the group already planning next year.

What to Expect

What to Expect
This trip is built for active hikers who enjoy a real challenge. Saturday is a demanding 6-hour hike — the Klingenstock chairlift is closed until 13 June so we hike up on foot (extra 2 hours, around 600m of climb), then traverse the iconic ridge to Fronalpstock with views of ten Swiss lakes. Sunday is much gentler: a beginner-friendly 3-hour cave tour at Hölloch with all gear provided. You'll be part of a small, friendly group of 15 with a dedicated TravelTribe coordinator across both days.
